I think it's less a reflection of screaming, poorly behaved kids as a reflection of the lack of realistic life perception of adults. Aside from the fact that more and more screaming babies are a product of parents who neglect parenting in leu of being a "buddy," many adult American citizens don't want to be put to the hassle of being around kids. Children are a neccessary aspect of a successful society, and many kids are usually sweet and cute in public. It's just THAT ONE that's in the line in front of you at the grocery store that gives all the rest of them a bad name. Aside from the 80/20 principle, poorly behaved kids need to be handled by adults. Put the responsibility back where the responsibility lies.
